About OpenMon
OpenMon is a fan-made, browser-based Pokemon adventure that combines a 2.5D overworld with classic turn-based battles. The world is rendered in 3D while characters, Pokemon, combat, and menus keep a crisp sprite-based style.
The game runs entirely in the browser. You can explore maps, meet NPCs, complete quests, catch Pokemon, organize a party, and build a collection without installing a desktop client.
Exploration and Dungeon Runs
OpenMon includes a regular overworld as well as a dedicated dungeon mode. Dungeon floors are procedurally generated from a seed and change their encounters, biome, and boss challenges from run to run. Meta progression gives repeated attempts a purpose beyond reaching the next floor.
Weather particles, a dynamic camera, map events, and a following Pokemon make exploration feel more like a complete adventure than a sequence of disconnected battles.
Turn-Based Battles
Battles use familiar type effectiveness alongside abilities, held items, status conditions, weather, terrain, and entry hazards. A good team needs more than raw levels: move coverage, defensive roles, item choices, and battle conditions all affect the outcome.
The Pokedex tracks seen and caught species, while the storage system lets you move Pokemon between your active party and PC boxes as your collection grows.
