Ashvale: Wild Frontier is a 2D survival RPG set in a dark wilderness shaped by corruption. You gather materials, craft tools, build a camp, survive the night, and earn the trust of wild creatures that can fight and work beside you.

Chapter One begins with only a cold firepit, a torch, and a few berries. From there, the quest tracker leads through meadows, caves, forests, marshes, and scorched land while the world opens into a mixture of survival, action combat, exploration, and creature collection.

Taming Through Trust

Taming is more than throwing an item. Each of the eight creatures has a condition, preferred food, and approach pattern. Some are shy, some must first be weakened, and others only appear at night or when you carry the right crafted item.

During a taming session, food raises trust and a timing ring can provide a larger boost. Attacking the creature breaks that trust. Once befriended, a creature can be named, added to the camp roster, and selected as one of two active companions.

Survival, Crafting, and Companions

Wood, stone, fiber, ore, plants, and creature materials become tools, weapons, food, healing supplies, workstations, and buildings. A repaired campfire acts as a respawn point and a place to manage the team.

Companions can follow, attack, defend, stay, gather, retreat, or use a special ability. Their passive talents also help outside combat: one may improve mining, reveal hidden caches, find herbs, or provide light in dark areas.

How to Play

• Repair the first firepit so you have a safe respawn and crafting point.
• Gather materials and craft basic tools before moving into harder regions.
• Read the creature journal to learn each species’ condition and preferred food.
• Tame companions carefully, then use the command wheel to direct them in combat or gathering.
• Watch health, hunger, stamina, time of day, and equipment before boss fights.
• Follow the quest tracker toward the source of the corruption while expanding your camp and roster.
