About Pokemon Tactics

Pokemon Tactics is a fan-made tactical RPG that reimagines creature battles as map-based encounters. Instead of choosing moves from two opposing menus, you guide a small team across an isometric battlefield and make each turn count.

Height, distance, and the space around allies all matter. The game rewards a careful setup before an attack, especially when an area move could also reach a teammate.

Use Terrain and Positioning

Each encounter is a tactical puzzle. Move into a useful lane, protect fragile teammates, and think about where an opponent can move next. The high ground and the shape of the map can change which attacks are practical.

Type matchups remain part of planning, but they are only one piece of a larger decision. A strong move is less useful if the target is out of range or an ally is standing in the blast zone.

How to Play

  • Start a battle and review the grid before committing your first move.
  • Use the keyboard and mouse to move a creature and select an action.
  • Keep allies out of friendly-fire areas before choosing a wide attack.
  • Use terrain, height, and attack range to create favorable turns.
  • Defeat opposing teams by combining placement with the right move at the right moment.
